Anton Karlsson wins 2020 RAM Cape Town Open

Anton Karlsson poses for a photo as he is handed the 2020 RAM Cape Town Open title for beating Garrick Higgo on Sunday

Looking at his position in the leaderboard on Saturday, only in his wildest imaginations, did Sweden's Anton Karlsson vision of a victory at the Royal Cape Golf Club.

And puff, on Sunday the 26-year-old Swedish man realized the wild dream he had the day before – when he ultimately beat local favorite, Garrick Higgo by a shot to claim the RAM Cape Town Open at wind affected Royal Cape.

Karlsson came from three shots behind the pace that was set by Daniel van Tonder on Saturday. And even so, his first hole on Sunday wasn't promising either as he bogged it - something which set him back even further.

"It was tough out there and I wasn't really in the best spot in those first few holes," he said. The weather didn't make it any easy for him either. "The wind was the worst I've seen in a long time. But I spoke to my caddie, and I said it was going to be a tough day for everyone," he said.

However, he kept his cool and fired four back-to-back pars on the turn. But then exhibited nerves of steel on the final stretch to make his wildest dream come alive with 14-under.
