It’s not at all surprising for hot American, Brooks Koepka to be termed the deep-dyed favourite as we kick start the race for the $15-million prized 13th FedEx Cup season title.
Not only does Brooks Koepka lead in scoring and putting average. But, his official world rankings average of 12.83, with a total of 44 actual tour events played has kept him on the world No.1 spot.
As we tee-off the FedEx-Cup’s first playoffs with the Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey, Koepka stands 572-point clear of World No.3 Rory McIlroy.
I guess Koepka’s St. Jude Invitational triumph two weeks ago, which earned him his third win this year - one victory more than any other golfer, surely have raised his confidence levels to an all-time high.
On the other hand, Branden Grace starts the 13th FedEx Cup race with the most ground to cover. He sits well outside the top 70 that will progress to the second of this year’s only three playoff events. Compleat Golfer has more on Branden Grace and Saffas jostle.
