With an incredible blend of talent, skill and what seems to be a golfing instinct, George Coetzee walked away with his 10th Sunshine Tour title at Simola Golf & Country Club on Sunday. This after a dominant week from round 1 for a 20-under-par victory at Simola Golf and Country Club.
Coetzee took a three-shot lead in the final round following scores of 61 and 69 in rounds one and two, then got straight into business on the last day. Two birdies in his first two holes settled him a bit as MJ Viljoen was making his own charge for the top spot. Coetzee made further gains on the fifth and ninth holes to turn in a bogey-free 32.
‘I had a couple of goals I wanted to achieve this year and going wire-to-wire was one of them,’ Coetzee revealed.
