Tommy Fleetwood won the biggest top prize in European Tour history, US$2.5 million (ZAR 36.82 million) in the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club.
The 28-year-old Englishman made three eagles before winning a sudden death play-off against 23-year-old Swedish man Marcus Kinhult. Fleetwood fired a final round of seven-under-par 65 to close tied on 12 under with Kinhult.
"This experience will live with me forever," said Tommy Fleetwood after defeating Sweden's Marcus Kinhult with a par on the first extra hole to finally break a 22-month winless drought that had plagued him.
