Home hero and world number four, Jon Rahm closed with a 66 to finish the 2019 Mutuactivos Open de España at 22 under. A dominant triumph on Sunday, at Club de Campo in Madrid, Spain.
He is the first golfer to successfully defend the Mutuactivos Open de Espana title for 66. So, now, he enters the record books with a fifth European Tour victory in just his 39th start. And this surpasses the record for a Spanish player set by Seve Ballesteros, who reached the milestone on his 49th appearance.

However, Rafa Cabrera Bello was his nearest challenger as Spaniards dominated the leaderboard, with World Number 1,413 Samuel Del Val at 15 under in just his fifth European Tour event.
So, this victory moves Jon Rahm to the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings Presented by Rolex. He also looks to become the first Spaniard to win the Harry Vardon Trophy since the late, great Seve Ballesteros in 1991.
