The first round of the inaugural ZOZO Championship held at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, in Chiba, Japan got the smash-hit start they were after.
McIlroy and Woods were making their 2019-2020 season debuts ranked second and 10th, respectively, on the OWGR list. But it was Woods who carded a career-low first-round to finish the opening day tied for the lead at the prestigious Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.
The 43-year-old golf legend last led after the opening round of a TOUR event some 3,724 days ago. Jason Day on the other hand, entered this event on a high confidence. This following his Monday’s victory on The Challenge: Japan Skins at this very same golf course.
In the opening round of the 2019 ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP, held at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, Tiger Woods and Gary Woodland share the lead by one shot over Hideki Matsuyama after carding 6-unders 64's.
