US star Kerr cleans up in France

Cristie Kerr, who, as a leading member plays most of her golf on the-the US-based LPGA Tour, captured her first Ladies European Tour title with a comprehensive wire-to-wire victory in the Lacoste Ladies Open de France on Saturday.

The American veteran shot a one-under 69 at the par-70 Golf de Chantaco to finish four strokes clear of China's Xi Yu Lin, with Spain's Azahara Munoz a further four shots adrift in third place

England's Holly Clyburn carded a final-round 66 to share 4th spot with Belgium's Anne van Dam with Solheim Cup star Georgia Hall finished some way down the scoreboard in a share of 14th place.

Kerr teed off with a massive 9-stroke advantage in the final round after shooting 62, 64 and 68 in the first three rounds, but found herself stranded in the Doldrums and could only card one birdie along with 17 pars on the final day.

"Sometimes it's really hard to play with a big lead because you get complacent. So many people played well this week, I'm happy to have come out with the trophy," Kerr said.
