Unlike many athletes or celebrities who lend their name to a brand, David Frost and his family have been in the wine business in South Africa for over 60 years. His father's vineyard was the first place he hit balls and the pocket money he made from picking grapes, funded his first set of clubs and an ongoing supply of balls. In 1994, the tradition of vineyards in the family continued when David bought a 300-acre Vineyard in the Paarl wine region where he produced his first 3,000 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon in 1997.
Sharing his two greatest passions, wine and golf, with his native country, David feels very strongly about supporting a foundation that does such a great job of instilling education and life skills into the youth of South Africa. The Raymond Ackerman Golf Academy aims for their students to achieve academic success and mature into respected young adults as well as to become competent and enthusiastic golfers. For every bottle of David Frost Wines sold, a R1 donation is given to the Raymond Ackerman Golf Academy.
While busy winning over 30 tournaments worldwide and recording the PGA Tour's lowest putting total ever, his passion for wine has never been far from his heart. Joining the PGA Tour in 1984 David quickly rose to elite status, leading the Tour in scoring average (70.09) in 1987 and was number 1 in putting in 1993 and 2001. While compiling 10 PGA Tour championships including the 1989 World Series of Golf and 1993 Canadian Open plus 12 international titles over an illustrious professional career
