Course Review: Arnold Palmer Golf Academy – Orlando, Florida

As the 2014 US PGA Tour season ends, many professional golfers will be taking a week or two to rest, recover, and work on technical aspects of their game.

For those of us who don’t find ourselves on the course every day, there’s no better way to polish up our game than a few days at a world-class golf school – this week’s course review takes a look at the training on offer at Arnold Palmer’s Golf Academy in Orlando.

Designed by an all-time great
The Arnold Palmer Golf Academy forms part of Palmer’s Bay Hill resort – one of the premier golf clubs in the Orlando area. As a multiple major winner with a passion for golf training, Palmer designed the school’s facilities and training methods himself, with an emphasis on enjoyment and personal development for golfers who sign up for one of the training packages on offer.

“Go for broke and never give up”
Arnold Palmer is famous for his approach to the mental game, and visitors to the golf academy will find their training spilt evenly between technical and psychological aspects of golf. Palmer’s training program is geared towards creating winners, with confidence-building exercises designed to bring out the competitive streak in every golfer.

From a technical point of view, the academy focuses on several areas of the game which Palmer considers vitally important. These include basic technique, course strategy, scoring, and practicing like a pro.

A range of options
Golfers have different budgets and schedules, and visitors to the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy will be happy to learn that the school offers a range of training packages – from one-day sessions to full-week intensive training.

Golfers also have the opportunity to test their improved skills at the Bay Hill course which is adjacent to the golf academy. For more information, please visit the academy’s website.
