Jon Rahm Rodriguez is probable golf's most talked about player right now. This after he fired the putt of his life from three feet to birdie the 18th at one of golf's finest golf courses, the Jumeirah Golf Estates, Earth Course on Sunday. The 25-year-old Spanish young gun took home the record $5 million first prize of the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.
Just seven holes into the final round Rahm had a six-shot lead. However, he birdied the 18th for 68 for a total of 19 under. But, that was one shot hair's breadth enough to skirt fellow Ryder Cup team-mate, Fleetwood who finished with 18 under par.
Now, the Spaniard is a six-time European Tour conquer and the third-best player in the world, making this win his most memorable of his three victories this season.
With 17-under, Mike Lorenzo-Vera settled for third position, and Irishman Rory McIlroy took fourth position.
Jumeirah Golf Estates is an unrivalled residential, Golf and Country Club leisure destination. It is home to two of the world’s finest golf courses - Jumeirah Golf Estates, Earth Course and Jumeirah Golf Estates, fire Course.
