Last Sunday the American Harris English won his first PGA Tour title at the St Jude’s Classic, hosted by TPC Southwind. This week’s course review takes a look at this exclusive private golf club in the heart of America’s Southland.
Located southeast of Memphis, Tennessee, TPC Southwind forms part of the Southwind gated community. The championship course is surrounded by prime real estate and lifestyle amenities, making TPC Southwind one of the most exclusive golfs in the southern states.
The 18-hole championship course, which was ranked 23rd in the United States by Golf magazine last year, was designed by renowned course architect Ron Prichard. With an emphasis on playability, Prichard’s designs are noted for their combination of beauty, challenge, and enjoyment – three elements which could sum up the course at Southwind.
TPC Southwind features a variety of holes that appeal to golfers of all abilities. While the course is able to challenge professionals who play the St Jude Classic each year, the same holes offer hope to weekend golfers who are seeking a day’s entertainment without too much high scoring.
The playability of the course, combined with the fair weather experienced in Memphis most months of the year, draws new members to the club each year. Here are some highlights from TPC Southwind:
