Heron Banks Golf and River Estate is a superb golf course paradise nestled on the provincial border banks of the mighty Vaal River. It has 18 championship regulation holes and plays to 72 pars along three kilometres of river frontage on the Free State side of the Vaal River. The golf course at Heron Banks Golf and River Estate is a sanctuary for golfers, beginners and non-golfer enthusiasts alike with rolling Highveld grasslands which criss-cross wetlands in a picture-perfect riverside concourse rich in bio-diversity.

Heron Banks GC was officially launched on 7 May 2011. Heron Banks Golf course was designed to accommodate the restoration of the local native ecosystem with minimum ecological impact by the design team of golf course engineer Danie Obermeyer.

Driving Directions to Heron Banks Golf and River Estate from Johannesburg
Take the N1 south route towards Vanderbijlpark. Exit left at the Vanderbijlpark off-ramp onto the R57. Follow R57 (Golden Highway) for approximately 16km to the Vaal river. After cross the Vaal River, exit the next off-ramp and take a left turn into Minnaar St. Continue along Minnaar St for approximately 1.5km, destination golf course will be to your left.
