HERMANUS GOLF CLUB is made up of 3 nine-hole golf courses namely the red course, Blue course and the Green course. It is set on the stunning stretch of seashore and Breede River Valley slopes of the Overberg, in the holiday town of Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa. Locally it is referred to as the Whale Coast and is about 100 km from Cape Town.

Hermanus Golf Club is a Parklands golf course with greens grass bent grass, is a golfer's paradise with breath-taking views of the bay and an ideal destination for the leisure golfer.

Hermanus GC was originally a 9-hole golf course back in 1907, then upgraded to an 18-hole in 1937, remodelled in 1952 by Robert Grimsdell and completely refurbished in 2006 over a period of one year and six months ended in June 2007 by the Rhodesian (Zimbabwe) born Peter Matkovich, who added the final 9 holes to the 18.

What was a gentle layout was replaced with modern classically designed holes, adding a dynamic visual and challenging aspect to the course. The now 27-hole Hermanus Golf course is well known for its year–round exquisite service. It is rated 42 in the Golf Digest Top 100 golf courses in South Africa 2012 and ranked #5 of 8 attractions in Hermanus by TripAdvisor plus Hermanus Golf Club the proud winner and holder of the Certificate of Excellence 2013.

The signature hole is the par 5, 11th hole that requires golfers to drive through a channel of mature tree-lined fairways. The weather is almost always characterised by strong whirling winds which keep the better players honest and the course a fair test for the aspiring golfer without being impossible. The Hermanus Golf Club is a private course, though accessible to the public. Open on Mondays and visitors are welcome every day but Wednesday afternoons and Saturday afternoons. From Cape Town International Airport to Hermanus (Via N2 East and R43)
Take the N2 freeway east from Cape Town International Airport past Somerset west and continue over Sir Lowry’s Pass.
Immediately after descending the Houw Hoek Pass take the R43 Bot River/Hermanus turnoff to your left.
Continue on the R43 straight into the town of Hermanus. Follow the Main Road through the Hermanus town centre, and the forced left turn traffic light at Lemm’s Corner.
Continue straight from the traffic circle near the Marine Hotel, always staying on the Main Road and now heading towards Stanford and Gans Bay.
About 1.5 kilometres after the traffic circle near the Marine Hotel turn left towards Berg-en-See and immediately left again into the Hermanus GC approach (Golf Road).
