The Olympic Club, Ocean Course

Ocean Course at The Olympic Club is a privately operated golf establishment with 18 championship regulation holes. It is located on a rolling parkland terrain adjacent to Lake Merced and the Pacific Ocean within The Olympic Club institution in Daly City in the state of California in the United States.

Founded in 1860, The Olympic Club is recognised as the oldest athletic club in America which offers a wide range of sporting activities to its members who are known as Olympians. The Olympic Club, Ocean Course is the second best of three golf courses housed at this club.

The Olympic Club, Ocean Course has had its fair share of modifications since its establishment in 1924. The Ocean Course boasts eighteen holes for a par of 71 from the championship tees. It also offers views of the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

The course is characterised by narrow fairways lined by majestic trees and small well-bunkered greens. It is estimated at about 6,900 yards from the longest tees with a course rating of 73.6 and a slope rating of 136.

Like its twin sister The Olympic Club, Ocean Course was also designed by Willie Watson and course superintendent Sam Whiting in 1924. The Olympic Club, Ocean Course is designed to challenge accuracy, ball control and to test the gofers skills and careful shot making whilst still providing some good par opportunities.
