Bellville GC

Bellville Golf Club is a semi private golf club ideally located in the heart of Cape Town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Bellville Golf Course is situated in the magnificent privileged Welgemoed rolling hills Valley of Bellville which ultimately protect it from prevailing winds and offers great views of the Hottentots Holland Mountains.

The course at Bellville Golf Club is par 72 with a playing length of 6000 metres. The greens at Bellville golf course are carpeted with American Creeping bent grass and the fairways with kikuyu grass.

In 1958 Bellville Golf Club was known as the Welgemoed Golf Club, a 9 hole short course which was designed by Bob Grimsdell. Officially play began same year. In 1981 the course at Bellville Golf Club was upgraded to 18 holes by golf course engineer Bill Kerr. Mark Muller did major renovations in 1995 but made every effort to incorporate the natural contours and features of the old design.

Bellville GC has a modern 19th hole and 5 well placed water hazards holes across several deceptive bunkers which follow the natural slop of the land, with panoramic views of the Hottentots Holland Mountains in the distance.

Directions to the Bellville Golf Club from Cape Town on the N1 highway. Take the Jip de Jager Drive exit and drive along Jip De Jager for between at least one and a half Kilometres. Bellville Golf club will be to your right.
